Over the last thirty years or so I have written / photographed / designed or produced over thirty book titles for the general trade (released by publishers like Reed, Sunshine Books or Moa Beckett) or my production company (with titles published to order as custom made books.) In addition, I have contributed to many group projects and provided cover images for numerous titles.

Starting, making and finally delivering a finished book is one of the most satisfying creative processes I know, not least due to its complexity and inherent need for “big picture” thinking instantly switchable to attention to detail.

Making a book, for me, has always been an excuse to “go see” – and I have been fortunate in being given insights into cultures, places, activities, manufacturing operations and creative undertakings that otherwise would have been entirely opaque to me. From tribal mythology to baking, winemaking to world cities, music to the world’s largest sailing boats, books have been major milestones in my creative journey and I am most grateful for those opportunities.
